Peru’s Ministry of Transport and Communications has approved a project to test Direct-to-Cell (D2C) connectivity, allowing satellites to transmit signals directly to compatible mobile phones without terrestrial infrastructure. The 24-month pilot program will focus on expanding mobile coverage in rural and border areas where traditional 4G networks are unavailable.
