Preparing for Australia’s 2026 Smart Device Security Regulations
On 27 February 2025, Australia introduced the Cyber Security (Security Standards for Smart Devices) Rules 2025, establishing mandatory cybersecurity requirements for certain consumer connectable products. From 4 March 2026, manufacturers must ensure compliance with prescribed security standards and prepare a Statement of Compliance, retained for five years, confirming conformity before supplying products to Australian consumers.

Uzbekistan RoHS Technical Regulation Postponed to 2027
Uzbekistan has postponed the entry into force of the Uzbekistan RoHS Technical Regulation under Resolution No. 66. The transition period has been extended from six months to up to eighteen months, moving the expected implementation date to February 2027 and giving manufacturers additional time to prepare for hazardous substance compliance requirements.
