Uzbekistan RoHS Technical Regulation Postponed to 2027

On 17 February 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution No. 66, officially postponing the entry into force of the Technical Regulation on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Radio-Electronic Products (Resolution No. 517).

The regulation, originally approved on 15 August 2025, was scheduled to take effect in February 2026. However, the government has now extended the transition period from six months to up to eighteen months.

Uzbekistan RoHS Technical Regulation: New Implementation Timeline

The Uzbekistan RoHS Technical Regulation establishes limits on hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment placed on the national market.

Under Resolution No. 66:

  • The original six-month transition period has been extended

  • Implementation is now expected around 15 February 2027

  • The final effective date will be confirmed upon official publication

This extension provides additional preparation time for economic operators.

Impact on Manufacturers and Importers

Manufacturers and importers supplying electrical and radio-electronic products to Uzbekistan should use this extended timeline to:

  • Review product material composition

  • Align supply chains with substance restrictions

  • Update technical documentation

  • Prepare for applicable conformity assessment procedures

Although enforcement has been delayed, the regulatory objective remains unchanged: restricting hazardous substances in products placed on the Uzbek market.

Regulatory Outlook

The postponement does not отмен the regulation but offers a longer compliance window. Companies targeting the Uzbek market should proactively prepare to meet the Uzbekistan RoHS Technical Regulation requirements before the revised enforcement date in 2027.
