1. Eswatini Standards Authority (SWASA)

2. Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM)

ESCCOM regulates telecommunications and electronic equipment. It manages the type approval process for devices to ensure they comply with national technical standards before being authorized for sale or use in Eswatini.


3. Ministry of Health

This ministry oversees the regulation of health-related products, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and food items. It ensures these products meet safety and efficacy requirements before entering the market.


4. Ministry of Agriculture

This ministry monitors and controls the use of agricultural chemicals, supports farmers with resources and training to improve food safety and quality, and facilitates the development of infrastructure needed for safe storage and transportation of agricultural produce.


5. Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS)

  • Agricultural Product Regulations: Agricultural and food products must comply with safety and quality standards enforced by the Ministry of Agriculture. This includes inspections and certifications to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure food safety.

  • Import Documentation: Importers must provide necessary documentation, including certificates of conformity, invoices, and packing lists, to the Eswatini Revenue Service for clearance.

  • Environmental Compliance: Products that could affect the environment, such as chemicals and waste, may be subject to regulations enforced by relevant environmental authorities.
