1. ANRTIC (Autorité Nationale de Régulation des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication)

This agency regulates the telecommunications and ICT sectors. It manages the type approval process for telecom and radio frequency equipment, ensuring compliance with national technical standards.


2. ANAMEV (Agence Nationale des Médicaments et des Évacuations Sanitaires)

ANAMEV oversees the approval and registration of pharmaceutical products. It ensures the quality, safety, and proper use of medications and manages policies related to medical evacuations.


3. OCOPHARMA (Office Comorien des Produits Pharmaceutiques)

OCOPHARMA ensures the supply of essential, high-quality medicines and consumables. It also supports local pharmaceutical production for health system needs.


4. Ministry of Health

This ministry develops and implements national health regulations and collaborates with agencies like ANAMEV and OCOPHARMA to regulate pharmaceuticals, public health products, and medical services.


5. Ministry of Environment

Responsible for environmental compliance, including controlling the export of endangered species and ensuring alignment with international conservation standards and national sustainability goals.


Product Certification and Compliance Requirements

  • National Quality Policy: Comoros has initiated a National Quality Policy to improve its quality infrastructure and promote standards across government and industry.

  • Telecom Equipment Compliance: All telecom and radio frequency devices must receive type approval from ANRTIC before being marketed or imported. This ensures technical compatibility and public safety.

  • Pharmaceutical Product Registration: All medicines must be registered and approved by ANAMEV. OCOPHARMA assists in the procurement and local production of approved drugs.

  • Environmental and Wildlife Regulation: Exporting protected species or wildlife products requires authorization from the Ministry of Environment and proper certification.

  • Labeling Requirements: Products sold in Comoros must have labels in French or Comorian, including product name, origin, manufacturer, usage instructions, and any necessary warnings or expiry dates.
