China CQC Household Appliance Standards Take Effect 2026

Chile USB-C Charger Regulation: New Rule for 11 Devices
Chile has formalized its USB-C charger regulation, adopting USB Type-C as the common charging receptacle for 11 categories of electronic devices sold in the country. Issued under Law 21.695 and published in the Diario Oficial on May 13, 2026, the rule applies to new mobile phones from October 2026 and to laptops, tablets, cameras, headphones and more from October 2028. Manufacturers must also meet new consumer-information labeling duties, with Sernac responsible for enforcement.

Australia ACMA Aircraft Class Licence Remake Consultation
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has opened a public consultation on remaking the Radiocommunications (Aircraft and Aeronautical Mobile Stations) Class Licence 2016 before it sunsets. ACMA proposes to revoke and remake the instrument with minor changes, preserving the licence-free framework for mobile radio equipment fixed to or carried on board aircraft. Canada ISED Consults on SRSP-310.7 Issue 5 (11 GHz)
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has released SRSP-310.7, Issue 5 for comment, revising the technical and channel-plan requirements for fixed line-of-sight microwave systems in the 10.7–11.7 GHz band. The draft adds channels in the 11.075–11.2 GHz and 11.575–11.7 GHz sub-bands and removes redundant provisions. Stakeholders may submit comments until August 28, 2026.

India: BEE Revises Star Labelling for Electric Water Heaters
