The UK has left the EU, and the transition period after Brexit comes to an end this year. Starting with January, 1st 2021 new regulations apply for the compliance of radio products placed on the market in England, Wales and Scotland.
UKCA marking requiring a mandatory assessment by a UK Notified Body is required. Existing and in operation products in the UK market are exempted from UKCA marking and CE is sufficient.
The TEC (technical examination certificate) must be transferred to a new TEC from a Notified Body recognized by UK government. Manufacturers will have to choose a local representative in the UK. The product marking must show the company details, including name and contact address of the local representative.
The declaration of conformity (DoC) must be changed to declare conformance to the UK technical standards “Radio Equipment Regulations 2017”.
