Brazil ANATEL published new rules for 5G products

Brazil ANATEL released a new update to support the Approval process for 5G. This notice applies to products that have 5G technology. A summary of the update is as below:

For 2G/3G/4G products that are still undergoing conformity assessment, these must be evaluated according to the current requirements Test reports from the approved laboratories must be provided.

Because Brazilian labs are not ready to test 5G, manufacturers can provide test reports issued by overseas test labs until 9th November 2020. After this date, it is assumed that local test labs will be ready to conduct 5G testing. Technical compliance requirements for 5G are outlined in ANATEL Acts 3151, 3152, and 3153.

For products that have been approved in Brazil, but which are pending the submission of 5G test reports, manufacturers must provide these reports by no later than 9th November 2020 to maintain compliance. If manufacturers do not provide these reports or reports are found noncompliant, any units on the market must be recalled.
